Volkmar Daniel Spörl
Volkmar Daniel Spörl (born December 26, 1733 in Nuremberg ; † January 21, 1807 there ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran theologian.
Life
The son of Johann Konrad Spörl had visited the Aegidianum and received lessons from private teachers. In 1751 he moved to the University of Jena with his brother Johann Ludwig Spörl , where he completed a theological and philosophical studies with Johann Peter Reusch , Johann Bernhard Wiedeburg, Johann Christoph Köcher and Johann Georg Walch . His knowledge of the history of literature, which he expanded through the use of the Jena University Library, whose rare manuscripts the then librarian Johann Christoph Mylius (1710–1757) willingly made available to him, was particularly effective there.
A trip to Weimar and Erfurt brought him the acquaintance of several local scholars. In 1752 he went to the University of Leipzig with his brother and attended the lectures of Kästner, Johann August Ernesti , Ernst Friedrich Wernsdorf , Christian August Crusius and Johann Christian Hebenstreit . At that time he took a trip with his brother to Dresden , Wittenberg and Halle . From Leipzig he went back to Nuremberg via Jena. After a short stay in his parents' house, he went to Altdorf University in 1753 .
Here he tried to expand and correct his theological knowledge with Johann Balthasar Bernhold , Johann Augustin Dietelmair , Johann Bartholomäus Riederer (1720–1771) and Johann Andreas Michael Nagel . Under the direction of Nagel, he dealt with the oriental languages and their literature. Michael Adelbulner instructed him in mathematics and experimental physics. In the 2nd volume of the Exercitatioanum Juris universi, praecipus Germanici, which Johann Heumann von Teutschenbrunn edited, his dissertation Specimen II mediationum de legibus religionis politicis ad pacis religiosae Artic , which was defended in 1766 . II. III et IV. Printed. This work can be seen as a preliminary work for his pastoral theology published in 1764 .
In 1756 he returned to Nuremberg and carefully prepared himself through private studies to take on a clerical office. In 1763 he became pastor of Entenberg , 1773 deacon at the St. Sebald Church in Nuremberg and 1793 senior of his chapter. He was unable to administer the pastorate assigned to him in 1805 for a long time due to increasing old age and was forced to cede the business related to it to his successor.
His marriage, entered into in 1765, with Margarethe Sophie Müller († 1806), the daughter of a town clerk in Hersbrück, remained childless.
