WWE Studios , founded in 2002 as WWE Films , is a Los Angeles , USA- based film production company. It is a subsidiary of the entertainment company WWE .
history
WWE Studios co-produced three films ( The Scorpion King , Welcome to the Jungle, and Walking Tall ). WWE Studios has also produced three other films ( See No Evil , The Marine and The Death Row ) as an independent film producer . Stone Cold Steve Austin is signed to WWE Studios to star in three WWE films. Before WWE Films was formed, WWE produced the feature film No Holds Barred with Hulk Hogan back in 1989 .
In 2006 it was decided to expand the number and selection of projects by focusing on television films and direct-to-DVD production films, as well as on other media platforms.
WWE Films was renamed WWE Studios on July 21, 2008 , to reflect the ongoing expansion of the WWE subsidiary under a new name.
