Arvid Lindman was Prime Minister from 1906 to 1911 and from 1928 to 1932

In September 1908 there was an election for the Second Chamber of the Swedish Reichstag .

After the electoral law reform of 1907, universal suffrage for men (with certain restrictions) applied for the first time to the Second Chamber of Parliament. However, the right to vote was not yet the same; H. the voice of a man with a high income or wealth was more influential than that of a worker.

Arvid Lindman , who formed a moderately conservative government, tried, like his predecessors Christian Lundeberg and Karl Staaff, to find a solution to the problem of the right to vote. The new King Gustav V (reign from 1907) supported the gradual democratization through electoral reforms.

The Social Democrats were able to increase the number of their seats from 17 to 33.

The number of seats for the Conservatives decreased to 84.

The Liberals had 109 seats.
