The constituency of Austria under the Enns 50 was a constituency for the elections to the House of Representatives in the Austrian crown land of Austria under the Enns . The electoral district was created in 1907 with the introduction of the Reichsrat election regulations and existed until the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy .

history

After the Reichsrat had decided on the general, equal, secret and direct male suffrage in autumn 1906, the major reform of the electoral law through the sanctioning of Emperor Franz Joseph I came into effect on January 26, 1907 . With the new Reichsrat election order, a total of 516 electoral districts were created, with one member being elected in each constituency with the exception of Galicia in the course of the Reichsrat election. The member of parliament has to prevail with an absolute majority in the first ballot or in a runoff election. The constituency Austria under the Enns 50 comprised the jurisdictions Neunkirchen , Gloggnitz , Aspangbahn and Kirchschlag , wherein the the constituency 42 forming communities Neunkirchen , Dunkelstein , St. Johann am Steinfelde , Pitten , Puchberg on snow mountain , Rohrbach on the stone field (all jurisdiction Neunkirchen) or . book Bach , Gloggnitz , Pottschach , Reichenau , Wimpassing (all jurisdiction Gloggnitz) were excluded from the constituency.

In the 1907 Reichsrat election , Rudolf Gruber ( Christian Social Party ) emerged victorious with 80 percent of the votes in the first ballot. Gruber was able to successfully defend his mandate in the 1911 Reichsrat election with 76 percent. The second-best result in the constituency was achieved by the Social Democrat Anton Ofenböck , who received 18 and 21 percent of the vote.

The 1907 Reichsrat election was held on May 14, 1907 (first ballot). The runoff election was dropped due to Gruber's absolute majority in the first ballot.
