The constituency of Austria under the Enns 46 was a constituency for the elections to the House of Representatives in the Austrian crown land of Austria under the Enns . The electoral district was created in 1907 with the introduction of the Reichsrat election regulations and existed until the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy .

history

After the Reichsrat had decided on the general, equal, secret and direct male suffrage in autumn 1906, the major reform of the electoral law through the sanctioning of Emperor Franz Joseph I came into effect on January 26, 1907 . With the new Reichsrat election order, a total of 516 electoral districts were created, with one member being elected in each constituency with the exception of Galicia in the course of the Reichsrat election. The MP had to prevail with an absolute majority in the first ballot or in a runoff election. The constituency of Austria under the Enns 46 comprised the judicial districts of Amstetten , Ybbs and Mank , with the municipalities of Amstetten and Ybbs an der Donau belonging to constituency 41 being excluded from the electoral district.

In the 1907 Reichsrat election , Josef Grim ( Christian Social Party ) emerged victorious with 76 percent of the votes in the first ballot. Grim was able to successfully defend his mandate in the 1911 Reichsrat election with 77 percent.
