The constituency of Austria under the Enns 43 was a constituency for the elections to the House of Representatives in the Austrian crown land of Austria under the Enns . The electoral district was created in 1907 with the introduction of the Reichsrat election regulations and existed until the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy .

history

After the Reichsrat had decided on the general, equal, secret and direct male suffrage in autumn 1906, the major reform of the electoral law through the sanctioning of Emperor Franz Joseph I came into effect on January 26, 1907 . With the new Reichsrat election order, a total of 516 electoral districts were created, with one member being elected in each constituency with the exception of Galicia in the course of the Reichsrat election. The MP had to prevail with an absolute majority in the first ballot or in a runoff election. The constituency of Austria under Enns 43 comprised the communities Lilienfeld , St. Aegyd am Neuwalde , Hohenberg , Traisen (all judicial districts Hainfeld ), Hainfeld , St. Veit an der Gölsen , Rohrbach an der Gölsen (all judicial districts Hainfeld), Göblasbruck , Stattersdorf , Viehofen , Wilhelmsburg (all judicial districts of St. Pölten ), Berndorf , Fahrafeld , Grillenberg , Hernstein , Hirtenberg , Pottenstein , St. Veit an der Triesting and Weissenbach an der Triesting (all judicial districts of Pottenstein ).

In the 1907 Reichsrat election , Ludwig August Bretschneider ( Social Democratic Workers' Party ) emerged victorious with 57 percent of the votes in the first ballot. Bretschneider was able to defend his mandate in the 1911 Reichsrat election with 65 percent in the runoff election against a Christian social candidate.
