The constituency of Austria under the Enns 54 was a constituency for the elections to the House of Representatives in the Austrian crown land of Austria under the Enns . The electoral district was created in 1907 with the introduction of the Reichsrat election regulations and existed until the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy .
history
After the Reichsrat had decided on the general, equal, secret and direct male suffrage in autumn 1906, the major reform of the electoral law through the sanctioning of Emperor Franz Joseph I came into effect on January 26, 1907 . With the new Reichsrat election order, a total of 516 electoral districts were created, with one member being elected in each constituency with the exception of Galicia in the course of the Reichsrat election. The member of parliament has to prevail with an absolute majority in the first ballot or in a runoff election. The constituency of Austria under the Enns 54 comprised the judicial districts Mistelbach and Matzen , with the municipality of Mistelbach belonging to constituency 38 being excluded from the electoral district.
From the Imperial Council election in 1907 was Ignaz Withalm ( Christian Social Party ) emerged as the winner in the first round. Withalm died on September 16, 1910, whereupon the Minister of the Interior ordered a replacement election for June 8, 1911. However, since the House of Representatives was subsequently dissolved and the general election of the Reichsrat in 1911 was carried out on June 13, 1911, there was no separate election. In the 1911 Reichsrat election, Josef Bogendorfer finally won the runoff against a party colleague.
