The constituency of Ilmenau I was a state electoral district for the state election in Thuringia in 1990 , the first state election after the re-establishment of the state of Thuringia. Its constituency number was 38.

The constituency comprised part of the then district of Ilmenau with the following cities and communities: Bücheloh , Elgersburg , Frauenwald , Gehren , Geraberg , Geschwenda , Gräfinau-Angstedt , Heyda , Ilmenau , Langewiesen , Manebach , Martinroda , Neustadt am Rennsteig , Oberpörlitz , Oehrenstock , Pennewitz , Schmiedefeld am Rennsteig , Stützerbach , Vesser and Wümbach .
