history

Methodist Zion Church

The origins of the place and the origin of the settlers are not documented. According to current knowledge, it should have been Franconian-Thuringian settlers in the period from around 1180 to 1250. The village was first Walter Dorff on June 2, 1367 in a document of Emperor Charles IV. Mentioned in this as king of Bohemia to the subjects of the owner of the nursing Schlettau with the associated five villages Sehma , Cranzahl , Cunersdorf, Walther village and Königswalde (Official Page) allowed the export of cattle and grain from Bohemia and guaranteed them the same rights and freedoms as the Bohemians.

In the course of the regional reform on January 1, 1999, it was incorporated into Crottendorf.

Economy and Infrastructure

Until December 30, 1996, Crottendorf was the end of a branch line that branched off from the Annaberg-Buchholz-Schwarzenberg line at Walthersdorf station . It was mainly used by trains on the route (Scheibenberg–) Schlettau – Crottendorf. Walthersdorf also had a stop on this, the historic waiting room of which can now be found in the Schwarzenberg Railway Museum .

The Walthersdorf (Erzgeb) train station was converted into a museum train station . There are no longer any scheduled journeys on the Annaberg-Buchholz-Schwarzenberg railway line that passes by. However, it is used by the Erzgebirge Observation Railway for regular special trips.
