Introduced 1955

The Republic of Palau does not actually have a national coat of arms. Instead, the seal of parliament is used as a national emblem.

description

The design of the seal is based on the emblem of the Pacific Islands trust area, which dates from 1955 and was handed over to the United States for administration by the UN Trust Council in 1947 .

The blue and white seal shows a traditional assembly center, where the representatives of the people gather and the common festivals take place. The 18 stones under the meeting house stand for the 18 republics of Palau.

On the ring that surrounds the seal, the name of the parliament in Palau is written in the upper half : Olbiil era Kelulau , literally: " House of the discussed decisions ".

In the lower half, the seal shows the name of the country in English: Republic of Palau .

The government seal used by the President and the diplomatic missions of Palau shows a similar appearance, but the details differ.
