The Pitcairn Islands coat of arms is the national coat of arms of the British overseas territory of the Pitcairn Islands .

description

In the blue field there is a gold-framed green tip with a gold anchor above which a white book hovers. The shield is adorned with a toad head helmet with green and gold helmet covers . On the gold-green bead of the helmet is a metal-colored wheelbarrow above which a blossom of the Miro tree hovers.

The green field is supposed to symbolize the cliffs of the island, the shield with the azure color the sea. The rectangle is supposed to represent a Bible , John Adams was very devout, and the anchor is supposed to represent the bounty . The residents also carve many souvenirs for tourists from the wood of the tree. The wheelbarrow symbolizes the first settlers. But there are other explanations as well.

The coat of arms was approved by the Royal Warrant on November 4, 1969 and thus introduced.

The flag of the Pitcairn Islands , on the other hand, was not introduced until 1984. The coat of arms can also be found in the flag.
