Montserrat coat of arms

The coat of arms of Montserrat is blue and has a raised red shield base . The cross-field heraldic figure shows Erin as the personification of Ireland , which is supposed to reflect the Irish origins of a large part of the European population of the island state of Montserrat . This is symbolized by three attributes : Erin wears a robe in the Irish national color green, with her right hand she supports a black cross , which stands for the Catholic background of the residents of Irish descent, and in front of her is a golden harp , like it can still be found today on the coat of arms of the Republic of Ireland .

The coat of arms can also be found on the flag of Montserrat .
