Sint Maarten coat of arms
The coat of arms of Sint Maarten , part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands , shows on a blue background (with a red border) the bordered coat of arms and the former “silver” Palace of Justice from Philipsburg . In the left upper corner a yellow bouquet of the convertible roses (Dutch: Wisselbloem ), the national plant. At the top right the monument to the Franco-Dutch friendship.
Above the shield a (brown) flying pelican in front of a yellow, radiant setting sun .
Under the sign in yellow ribbon with green (on the flag display: black) majuscules the motto : SEMPER Progrediens . (Dutch: "Altijd op weg". Meaning: "Always on the move")
The coat of arms is inserted in the flag of Sint Maartens for the island part in the white triangular field near the mast side.
