Warlock - The Armageddon is an American fantasy - thriller from the year 1993 . It is the sequel to the movie Warlock - Satan's Son .

action

Middle Ages. The druids use five holy stones to prevent the birth of Satan's son. Shortly afterwards, they are attacked by mysterious horsemen. Most of the druids die, but can get the five stones to safety. The riders take hold of the birthstone.

Present. During a nightly lunar eclipse , Warlock is born in New York City to a woman who, apparently ignorant, wears the birthstone as a piece of jewelry. Warlock kills his "mother" and contacts the father through her corpse. He is given the task of finding the five stones in order to enable Satan to ascend from hell to earth. Warlock only has a few days to do this - until the next solar eclipse . He pulls a piece of skin from the dead man's stomach, on which the USA map with the route to the stones becomes visible. Warlock takes a cab and is on his way.

He found the first stone at a fashion show, the second in a circus and the third with a wealthy entrepreneur. Warlock kills all owners after getting the stones. He lets the head of the model fall from a height, he turns the entrepreneur into a Picasso- style sculpture and the circus operator remains "on the other side" of a mirror. Warlock now drives a sports car himself, which he stole from a gas station attendant. Since the gas station operator discovered that Warlock's driver was dead, and because Warlock lost a lot of blood in an attack by a druid, he was sucked out by Warlock. Warlock's map decays on the way to California . He takes a hitchhiking prostitute with him, rips off her scalp and then throws her out of the car. So he gets a "fresh" card.

In a parallel storyline, the action is shown in a small Californian town where the few current druids live. This is Will Travis and two of his friends. The fourth, Ted Ellison, turned away and became the village pastor. The druids are treated as outsiders in the village, the residents suspect them of witchcraft and satanism, since they never attend church and practice their secret practices. They keep the two remaining stones and have a dagger that can be used to kill Warlock. However, only two Druid Warriors can do this, but they do not exist. Only Will's son Kenny and Ted's daughter Samantha could be considered, but they must first be initiated, initiated and trained. One of the druids seriously injures Warlock at the gas station by stabbing a maple leaf while he is boiling with rage. Another takes the dagger with him, tracks down Warlock in the rich man's skyscraper and tries to attack him. When Warlock exits the elevator, the walls are covered in blood and the remains of the mangled druid are hanging everywhere. This is how the dagger ends up with the Warlock.

Kenny and Samantha are in love, but when he wants to go to San Francisco with her , she refuses because she likes small town life and doesn't want to leave her father alone. The mothers of the two died in childbirth, which also points to druid warriors. Ted Ellison is against this relationship, fearing that he will lose his daughter as well, and threatens Will Travis to stop taming the community's anger at druids if he doesn't keep his son away from Samantha. Kenny is shot by his father without warning and is reborn as a druid warrior with secret healing skills. At first he is fearful and suspicious, but ultimately trusts his father and his friend and the training begins. Kenny learns telekinesis and levitation, communicates with trees and animals. Samantha learns everything from Kenny and also wants to join in, but her father can't kill her, so she stabs herself in the stomach with a knife. Now Ted Ellison is also returning to his friends.

The druids can recognize the birth and the journey of warlocks through several signs. Wood flour forms the letter “W”, birds fall from the sky, water turns into blood, thousands of insects come out. These are also indications of the approaching apocalypse , but the villagers blame the druids for this. Warlock announces his arrival in town with the crucifixion of a woman upside down. He sets up this crucifix in front of the church. Believing that the druids were responsible for this deed, the parishioners want to lynch those "responsible", but Kenny can prevent this by revealing his powers. The pastor explains that Warlock is already in town and sends the people home to protect them from the destructive struggle.

Kenny and Samantha spend the night together. He gives her one of the stones and sends her away. Under no circumstances should she show herself, no matter what happens to him. Warlock gets the fourth stone from one of the druids he is torturing in his bookstore, and at that moment he is attacked by Kenny. He strikes back, seriously injuring the boy and wants to end the matter, but the two fathers shoot him. He survives the attack and shoots Will and Ted with his index finger. Suddenly Samantha comes on a motorcycle, shows Warlock the last stone and drives away. Warlock flies after her. Will Travis manages with the last of his strength to heal his son. The final battle takes place in the forest. Warlock overpowers and ties both warriors. With the beginning of the solar eclipse, he opens the gate to hell. When Satan has almost risen from hell, the warriors manage to turn on the headlights of a car. The light drives back the devil. Warlock furiously pulls the dagger and wants to kill Kenny. The warriors join forces to bring the blade under their control and stab the sorcerer , who decays on the spot and disappears underground.

Exhausted after the fight, Samantha collects the sacred stones. When she tries to reach for the birthstone, an arm of Warlock's skeleton breaks out of the earth and pulls the stone into the depths.

criticism

"Unsuccessful mixture of horror and fantasy, comedy and melodrama."
