Warning (English for: " Warning ") is the sixth studio album by the American punk rock band Green Day . It was released on October 3, 2000 and was released on Reprise Records .
Warning was not as successful as the three previous albums Dookie , Insomniac and Nimrod . Even so, it came in at number four on the US charts and was awarded the gold record for over 500,000 sales in the US .
With Warning , the style of Green Day changed. With this album the band went more towards pop-rock / pop-punk and alternative rock. Rob Cavallo, who produced the last three albums with the band, stepped into the background at Warning and only worked as executive producer . The band took over the production alone.
