Kerplunk! is the second regular studio album by the American punk rock band Green Day and was released in 1992.
background
After the departure of drummer John Kiffmeyer , it's Kerplunk! the first album with its successor Tré Cool . In addition to the 12 regular album songs, the CD version of Kerplunk! the four songs of the 1990 EP Sweet Children - accordingly Kiffmeyer still played drums there.
Although Kerplunk! did not make the US charts, reaching platinum status in 2003.
The expression Kerplunk! refers to, among other things, the rumbling sound of a falling object, but is also the name of a children's game similar to Mikado, in which wooden sticks have to be pulled out of a plastic cylinder without causing the marbles lying on it to fall.

Unless otherwise noted, the songs were written by Billie Joe Armstrong. In Dominated Love Slave , Tré Cool sang while Billie Joe Armstrong played the drums. Welcome to Paradise was re-recorded for the follow-up album Dookie . My Generation is a cover of the British band The Who .
