Wasenbacher Höhe

The Wasenbacher Höhe nature reserve is located in the area of the municipality of Kriegsfeld in the Donnersbergkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The approximately 289 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 2013 , extends south of the core town of Kriegsfeld. The state road L 404 runs along the southwestern edge and the L 399 to the north.
Protection purpose
The purpose of protection is the preservation, restoration and dynamic development of semi-natural deciduous forests , the restoration of the natural site conditions as far as possible and ensuring their natural development as sites of typical, rare or endangered wild plant species and plant communities and as a habitat for typical, rare or endangered species that are bound to these biotope types wild animal species and their communities.
