The nature reserve Langhöll-Falkenberg is located in the area of the local community Alsenz in the Donnersbergkreis in the North Palatinate Bergland in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The approximately 100 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1999 , extends southeast of the core town of Alsenz, on the southwest slope ( Langhell ) together with the Falkenberg (282.3 m) pre-summit of the Spannagel mountain (356.8 m) in the northern Palatinate Mountainous country and includes to the south also the Talergraben flowing to the west to Alsenz . The B 48 runs in the Alsenz valley, the L 403 state road runs north of the Spannagel and the L 400 runs east in the Alsenz-parallel valley of the Appelbach .
Protection purpose
Protection purpose is the preservation and development of the area as one of the main habitats of wild plant and animal species in the course of the Alsenz valley, especially the preservation and development
- of richly textured open fields with dry grassland , species-rich meadows and pastures, meadow orchards, dry bushes and trees and shrubs that,
- of near-natural, local forest stands with areas that are left to natural development,
- of near-natural spring and water areas with broken forest stands , reed beds , sedges and extensively used grassland areas .
