The Beutelfels nature reserve is located in the Donnersbergkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The approximately 59 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1981 , extends southeast of the local community Falkenstein and northeast of the local community Imsbach around an unnamed, 546.0 m high mountain of the Falkensteiner Berge , which continue the massif of the Donnersberg to the southwest, North Palatinate Uplands . The state road L 392 runs to the southwest and the A 63 to the southeast .

Protective purpose is to preserve the natural plant communities , especially the maple - linden wood , the rock maple - oak forest , the rock pear bushes , the sheep fescue grass and crevices companies and to the habitats bound of the area rare animals and plants as well as securing the natural forest of scientific and area studies reasons .
