In the south there is Düllstadt some distance away, the west is filled with Gerlachshausen - Münsterschwarzach - Stadtschwarzach . Several unnamed lakes are located around the Wasenmeisterei.

history

The former Wasenmeisterei is closely linked to the cultural history of the region. Since the Middle Ages, there have been individual farms away from the villages, which were inhabited by the so-called washer masters or knackers . They were obliged by the authorities to collect and remove the animal carcasses in their district. The unpleasant smell and the risk of illness led to the Wasenmeister being counted among the dishonest professions.

For the first time, there was evidence of such a maintenance workshop between Reupelsdorf and Düllstadt in 1799. It was operated by Johann Jörg Beck, who was probably also the builder of the system. In 1829 Michael Sedelmayer was Wasenmeister. In the 19th century the Wasenmeisterei was an independent district of the municipality of Reupelsdorf. In 1869 Johann Beck took over the business and sold the hides, leather , soap and glue made from the animal carcasses.

With Georg Philipp Ungemach, a family came into possession of the property in 1875 and they still own the buildings today. Hardly collected the carcasses on behalf of the Lower Franconia district and thus took on a sovereign task. Even after a fire in 1907, he had the remaining buildings built, which were completed in 1910. In 1933 he handed the business over to Egidius Ungemach, who was the last was foreman at Reupelsdorfer Forst. After 1945, state animal carcass disposal agencies took over the task of the master workshop.

In 1943 the widow Barbara Ungemach lived on the farm, her son Egidius Ungemach junior set up an agricultural property there in 1959 . In 1960 Philipp Ungemach came into possession of the facilities, until 1973 the Reupelsdorf Wasenmeisterei was added to the newly founded community of Schwarzach am Main and lost its status as a district. Willy Ungemach has lived in the former Wasenmeisterei since 1993.

District

The Wasenmeisterei was a part of Reupelsdorf for a long time and was called a wasteland . In 1875 the property belonged to the parish and the Reupelsdorf school, a total of four buildings were recorded. In 1900 there was talk of only one residential building. In 1970, plans were already being made to incorporate Reupelsdorf into Wiesentheid, and the Wasenmeisterei was accordingly listed as a district of the market town of Wiesentheid. Only with the land consolidation and the reallocation of the district did the place come to Düllstadt, a district of Schwarzach am Main. After 1970 the Wasenmeisterei lost its status as a district.
