Micro hydropower plants

Most very small hydropower plants are turbine plants. However, these are controversial because they often represent a significant interference in a stream or river system, despite the low energy yield, and are difficult for fish to pass. However, there are also more environmentally friendly micro hydropower plants such as hydropower screws and water wheels .
