The hamlet Langweiler is a small hamlet in the south-western municipality of Aldenhoven in the Düren district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It was created in the area of ​​a former open-cast mine and is assigned to the Aldenhoven district of Niedermerz . Mainly resettlers from the abandoned towns of Erberich , Fronhoven and Lohn have found a new home here since 1981.

The wrought-iron church spire cross of the former Lohner parish church of St. Silvester stands on the green in the middle of the settlement .

The hamlet is located directly on the municipality boundary with Eschweiler and is reminiscent of the village of Langweiler, which was located in Aldenhoven between Warden and Laurenzberg and was demolished in 1973 .

Neighboring towns are Warden, Hoengen , Niedermerz, Schleiden , Fronhoven and Neu-Lohn .

The next motorway connections are "Aldenhoven" and "Alsdorf" on the A 44 . The hamlet of Langweiler is the final stop of the AVV bus line 6 (hamlet Langweiler - Niedermerz - Aldenhoven - Neu-Lohn - Dürwiß - Eschweiler bus station) .
