World Heritage on Niue

Niue joined the World Heritage Convention on January 23, 2001 . So far, however, the country has not submitted a tentative list to UNESCO and has therefore not nominated any candidates for UNESCO World Heritage .

Niue is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Program for Small Island Developing States . In this context, the state will revise the inventory of its cultural assets in the period 2016–2017. For Niue, a serial nomination of whale sanctuaries is in preparation together with Tonga and possibly other states.
