World Heritage in the Solomon Islands

The world heritage of the Solomon Islands (as of 2016) includes a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The oceanic island state of Solomon Islands joined the World Heritage Convention in 1992, and the only World Heritage site to date was added to the World Heritage List in 1998.

The following table lists the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Solomon Islands in chronological order according to the year of their inclusion in the World Heritage List (K - cultural heritage, N - natural heritage, K / N - mixed, (R) - on the Red List of World Heritage in Danger ).

Tentative list

The sites that are intended for nomination for inclusion in the World Heritage List are entered in the tentative list . Currently (2017) two sites are entered in the tentative list of the Solomon Islands, the last entry in 2008. The following table lists the sites in chronological order according to the year of their inclusion in the tentative list.

2008 K / N includes the Marovo lagoon , the now uninhabited island of Tetepare with the traces of a previous population and selected areas of the islands of Vangunu , Gatokae and Rendova , marine areas off the coasts of these islands and the barrier island of Hele in the New Georgia archipelago in the western province of the Solomon Islands.
