World Heritage in Lebanon

The world heritage in Lebanon (as of 2017) includes five UNESCO world heritage sites , all five sites of the world cultural heritage. Lebanon ratified the World Heritage Convention in 1983, and the first World Heritage site was added to the World Heritage List in 1984. The last world heritage site in Lebanon to date was registered in 1998.

World heritage sites

The following table lists the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Lebanon in chronological order according to the year of their inclusion in the World Heritage List (K - cultural heritage, N - natural heritage, K / N - mixed, (R) - on the Red List of World Heritage in Danger ).

Wadi Qadisha (Sacred Valley) and Forest of the Lord's Cedars (Horsh Arz el-Rab) 1998 K 850 includes the Wadi Qadischa , the river bed of the holy river Qadischa with its monasteries, and the forests of the cedars of the Lord growing on the mountain Makmel to the east of the valley between 1900 and 2050 meters .

Current World Heritage candidates

As of 2019, ten sites are entered in the tentative list of Lebanon; the tentative list was revised in 2019. The following table lists the sites in chronological order according to the year they were included in the tentative list.
