Welton is a small town (with the status " City ") in Clinton County in the eastern part of the US -amerikanischen state of Iowa . In 2010 Welton had 165 inhabitants.

Welton is located in the center of Clinton County at 41 ° 54'29 "north latitude and 90 ° 35'43" west longitude and extends over 0.71 km². The place is about 35 km west of the Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois . The Wisconsin border is 70 km north. Welton is the only independent community in Welton Township .
