Camanche is located in the southern suburbs of the city of Clinton on the west bank of the Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois . The city extends over 24.43 km², which is spread over 22.49 km² of land and 1.94 km² of water.
About 5 km below the southern outskirts is the confluence of the Wapsipinicon River in the Mississippi.
