Wheatland lies at 41 ° 49'54 "north latitude and 90 ° 50'18" west longitude and extends over 1.57 km². The place is 3.2 km west of the Wapsipinicon River , a right tributary of the Mississippi . This is about 55 km to the east and forms the border with Illinois . The Wisconsin border runs approximately 90 km north. Wheatland is the center of Spring Rock Township in the extreme southwest of Clinton County.
