Widdersberg is located on the east bank of the Pilsensee and is now part of the municipality of Herrsching am Ammersee , Starnberg district in Upper Bavaria . Until its incorporation in 1972, the place was independent.

geography

location

Widdersberg is located 2.5 kilometers north-east of Herrsching and 5 kilometers north of Andechs Monastery , in the center of the Fünfseenland at the height between Lake Ammersee and Lake Starnberg . It consists of the suburbs Alt-Widdersberg and Neuwiddersberg, has 395 inhabitants.

Alt-Widdersberg is located on a plateau that was created by glacier deposits between the two main glacier tongues of the Isar-Loisach glacier. The Neuwiddersberg, which only emerged at the beginning of the 20th century, stretches from the banks of the Pilsensee at the foot of the ridge over a rib in which the pond is embedded to the edge of the plateau.

On January 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality was dissolved as part of the territorial reform and Herrsching was added.
