Wielogłowy is a village with a Schulzenamt of the Chełmiec municipality in the Nowosądecki powiat of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland .

geography

The place is located on the right bank of the Dunajec , in the Rożnów Mountains , 3 km downstream and north of the city of Nowy Sącz (New Sandez). The neighboring towns are Wielopole in the south, Marcinkowice in the southwest, Dąbrowa in the west, Wola Kurowska in the northwest, Jelna in the north, and Słowikowa and Klimkówka in the east.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1273 when it was awarded to Otto Toporczyk by Duke Bolesław V of Cracow . 1318, the first parish church was built, 1325/1326 than the parish [ Mathias plebanus Ecclesiae ] Wilglow in Peter's Pence register in the dean's office Nowy Sacz (Nowy Sacz) of the diocese of Krakow mentioned.

Politically and administratively, the private village belonged to the Kingdom of Poland (from 1569 in the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania ), Krakow Voivodeship , Sącz District. During the Reformation under the Wielogłowski family, the local church became the seat of an Arian parish from 1557 to 1630 . H. of the Polish Brothers .

After the first partition of Poland, Wielogłowy came to the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804).

In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Wielogłowy came to Poland. This was interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II , during which it was part of the Krakow district in the Generalgouvernement .

From 1975 to 1998 Wielogłowy was part of the Nowy Sącz Voivodeship .
