The Wilhelmshaeuser Bach, which runs entirely in the Geo-Naturpark Frau-Holle-Land (Werratal.Meißner.Kaufunger Wald) rises at Mühlenstein , 607.2  m above sea level. NHN high mountain of the Kaufunger forest . Its source is located on the eastern flank of the mountain in the Seemeinersgraben valley notch at an altitude of around 520  m .

The flowing water , also known as Berksbach (also known as the left source creek) in the upper reaches , initially runs through the Seemeinersgraben and then to the northeast. When the Mittelbach (also referred to as the right Quellbach) coming from the direction of Oberroßbach or Bilstein is recorded, it is only called Wilhelmshäuser Bach and is 6.95 km long from there. It flows through Roßbach a little below this brook union, which is about 265  m above sea level .

From then on, the brook flows northward in the Kleinalmeröder hill country along the state road  3389. Then it runs north-east along the county road  65 through Ellingerode . After the confluence of the Krumbach (Krummbach) coming from Kleinalmerode , the stream flows northeast along the L 3237.

Finally, the Wilhelmshausen Bach runs northwest past Witzenhausen , to flow into the Werra at a height of about 130  m after crossing under the L 3238 (with the Werra valley cycle path ) .
