Willy hull
Willy Rumpf , also Willi Rumpf , (born April 4, 1903 in Berlin , † February 8, 1982 in East Berlin ) was Minister of Finance of the GDR .
Life
As the son of an employee, after attending primary school from 1917 to 1920, he trained as an insurance employee and worked as an accountant, cashier and foreign trade correspondent until 1932. In 1920 he joined the Communist Youth Association of Germany and in 1925 the KPD . From 1933 he made illegal anti-fascist resistance, was from 1933 to 1938 in prison and in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp in detention. Then he worked again as a clerk and was a member of Robert Uhrig's resistance group . He was imprisoned again in 1944 and 1945.
From 1945 to 1947 he was deputy head of the finance department of Greater Berlin, in 1947 and 1948 head of the Berlin trust administration, in 1948 and 1949 head of the main finance administration of the German Economic Commission and from 1949 to 1955 State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance.
In 1946, Rumpf joined the SED . From 1949 to 1967 he was a member of the People's Chamber , a candidate from 1950 and a member of the Central Committee of the SED from 1963. 1955 to 1966 he was Minister of Finance and a member of the Council of Ministers, from 1963 of his Presidium.
Willy Rumpf was married to Ella Rumpf (member of the so-called M-Apparat of the KPD and first married to the murdered Rudolf Schwarz, who also belonged to the M-Apparat) and was thus brother-in-law of the GDR Foreign Minister Otto Winzer.
His urn was in the grave conditioning Pergolenweg the memorial of the socialists at the Berlin Central Cemetery Friedrichsfelde buried.

Private
Willy Rumpf was married to Ella Rumpf (1907–2002), whose brother Otto was a winemaker , until his death . Ella Rumpf worked for the so-called M-Apparat, the KPD's intelligence service. Her first marriage was to Rudolf Schwarz , who was "shot while trying to escape" with John Schehr on February 1, 1934 . His son Guido Rumpf served in the NVA and for many years was a captain at sea, in command of a unit of the People's Navy.
