We are alive is a song by the pop duo Rosenstolz . It was released on September 9, 2011 on the Universal Music Group label and written by Ulf Leo Sommer and the two musicians von Rosenstolz himself. The song is included in the Rosenstolz album " We are alive ". The song was Rosenstolz's first single release in three years and since Burnout Plates. According to Rosenstolz, it was written in April 2011.
Music video
The official music video for the song was posted on the Universal Musics official website on August 1, 2011 , but not on YouTube. The video shows an older woman sitting on a chair, a girl runs up to her and shows her a video of Rosenstolz on her cell phone. Later in the video, she is seen with her family at her husband's funeral. Time is rewound and you can watch it at a young age. She is portrayed by Katrin Sass .

Artur Schulz from laut.de says that We Are Alive is “dramatically designed as a classic Rosenstolz song” and that “catches the number thanks to its effective structure, beguiling harmonies and a well-dosed pinch of pathos”. Jana Fischer from plattentests.de says that the song follows the “ love-is-everything-I-am-I-give-me-sun-scheme ”, is based on the style of the previous albums and that “ Peter Plate's obligatory vocal intermezzo is somewhat dispensable would be ".
Charts
The single was most successful in Germany. It moved up to number 3 and stayed on the charts for a total of 23 weeks. In Austria it climbed to number 17, which is the highest ranking, and stayed in the top 100 for 17 weeks. It also achieved a position in Switzerland: It entered number 43, two weeks later it was 35 and had six Weeks a place in the top 75.
