construction
The ship was laid down on October 2, 1978 as the first ship in a new series of coastal defense ships for the People's Navy of the GDR at the Peene shipyard in Wolgast . At first the ship was still called Prenzlau . The ship was launched on July 6, 1979. The completion of the ship was repeatedly delayed due to many problems. Since successes were to be presented to the GDR population at the Xth party congress of the SED in April 1981, the second ship in the series, the Parchim with board number 242, was put into service punctually for the party congress. As a result of the rearrangement of the series, the ship was named Wismar from April 1981 . The Wismar - with board number 241 - was not put into service until July 9, 1981 . Since the second ship in the series - the Parchim - was put into service before the Wismar , the series was not named Wismar , but Parchim .

People's Navy
During her service under the flag of the Volksmarine, the Wismar took part in various missions and sea exercises, but never left the Baltic Sea area . The longest voyage took the ship to Helsinki in the summer of 1989 as part of a fleet visit .

Federal Navy
On October 3, 1990, the Wismar with the new board number P 6170 was taken over into the fleet of the German Navy. Performance
In ten years and 60 days the ship covered a total of 44,531 nm (corresponds to twice around the earth at the equator), of which 3,492.4 nm were in the German Navy. Ten main engine changes were carried out, six of them by the crew. The ship called the Peenewerft / Wolgast base 14 times for maintenance and repairs. The Wismar passed the “Bridge of Friendship” 28 times, eleven times with its own power without a tug.
The ship called at the sponsored city of Wismar three times.
Under the Indonesian flag
In January 1993, the Wismar was handed over to the Republic of Indonesia together with all other ships of the series with complete armament and equipment . After being ready to drive under the supervision of the Indonesian Navy in the Peenewerft Wolgast, the transfer took place on its own keel to Indonesia.
The ship was given hull number 377 and is listed as KRI Sutanto (STO) -377.
