Vitaly Sergeyevich Chernyshev ( Russian Виталий Сергеевич Чернышёв , Belarusian Віталь Сяргеевіч Чарнышоў * 18th June 1981 in Petrozavodsk ) is a former Russian, and later for Belarus-start biathlete .

Vitaly Tschernyschow contested his first international races as part of the junior races of the Biathlon World Championships 2000 in Kościelisko . In the individual he won the bronze medal behind Benjamin Eder and Ivan Tscheresow, in the relay race he won the gold medal with Denis Saldimirow, Ivan Tscheresow and Alexei Tschurin . This was followed by the Junior World Championships 2000 in Hochfilzen , where he was 42nd of the individual. The Russian was particularly successful in the junior races of the European Championships 2001 in Haute-Maurienne . In the individual, Tschernyschow had to admit defeat to Nikolai Kruglow and Michal Šlesingr and won the bronze medal. He won the title in the sprint and pursuit races and as a starting runner with Alexei Konchine, Alexei Solowjow and Nikolai Kruglow in the relay race. The 2001 Junior World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk were also successful , where he won the individual title and was seventh in fuel and pursuit. In the relay race he won the silver medal again as a starting runner with Alexander Schukow, Solowjow and Kruglow behind the German representation.

His first international championships in men ran Chernyshev at the European Championships in 2002 in Kontiolahti and was 32nd of the individual and fourth with Sergei Konovalov , Andrei Prokunin and Filipp Schulman of the relay competition. A year later he won the relay silver medal behind the Germans at the European Championships in Forni Avoltri alongside Konovalov, Schulman and Tscheresow. He was also 21st in the individual, 15th in the sprint and 16th in the pursuit. Since the 2003/04 season , the Russian started regularly in the European Cup , the best result was a third place in an individual in Obertilliach behind Vladimir Grigoryev and Maxim Maximow in the 2004/05 season . For the 2006/07 season , Chernyshev moved from the Russian to the Belarusian biathlon association. At the first stations of the Biathlon World Cup , he contested his few races in the racing series. He did not finish his first race, an individual in Östersund . The best result was a 69th place in Hochfilzen . It was also his last international race.
