With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear is the debut album by the US post-hardcore band Sleeping with Sirens .
It was released on March 23, 2010 via Rise Records . The album was recorded by Cameron Mizell at Chango Studios in Casselberry , Florida . There are ten songs on the debut album. It is the only album by the band that did not make it into the official charts.
It is the only album with Brandon McMaster and Nick Trombino as guitarists .

Founded Sleeping with Sirens in 2009 in Orlando , Florida by Brian Calzini who recently left the band Paddock Park had been thrown out. The two guitarists Brandon McMasters and Dave Aguilar, as well as the bassist Paul Russell, the keyboardist Kellin Quinn and the drummer Alex Kaladjian joined Calzini.
In this formation the group recorded two demo pieces. That same year, Calzini was also eliminated from Sleeping with Sirens and Kellin Quinn took over the post of lead singer . Aguilar, Kaladjian and Russell also left the band and were replaced by bassist Justin Hills and drummer Gabe Barham.
On November 9, 2009, the band was finally signed by Rise Records . The album was released on March 23, 2010. With You Kill Me (In a Good Way) one month appeared after the release of the album's first single. It wasn't until August 6th of the same year that the second release followed with If I'm James Dean, You're Audrey Hepburn , before the third single of the same name followed on September 10th with With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear . Aaron Marsh from Copeland and Dave Stephens from We Came as Romans performed as guest musicians .
McMaster and Trombino left the band after the album was released and were replaced by Jesse Lawson and former Broadway guitarist Jack Fowler .

Reviews
Jason Schreurs of the US American Alternative Press tore the album all along the line. He described the With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear as a permanent attack of mainstream influences on the sound emo or even metalcore , which, according to Schreurs, should sound ultra-dirty and raw instead of juvenile, trite and cowardly. He described the musicians as talented, but that doesn't hide the bad album. Above all , he criticizes Quinn's singing on a negative basis. He describes it as howling, reminiscent of a mixture of Geddy Lee and Justin Bieber and further reinforces the negative impression. He described the ballad-like Let Love Bleed Red as a "bad joke."
Gregory Heaney from Allmusic, on the other hand, was quite enthusiastic about With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear . He writes that the album represents almost 30 minutes of well-played post-hardcore with unlimited energy. He also emphasizes the singing of Kellin Quinn positively. He is of the opinion that his high-pitched singing not only gives the songs a hopeful and uplifting quality, but is also able to produce good pop albums with this voice . He attributed great musical potential to the band.
The album was also extremely well received by Ultimate Guitar . The group could, with a little more work, be seen as the greatest thing post-hardcore has made after Saosin and Circa Survive . As a positive surprise is - in contrast to the critics of the Alternative Press the - ballad Let Love Bleed Red described. It just begins with vocals and acoustic guitars , "but explodes in a lush soundscape that involves the entire band and ensures enthusiastic listening."
