Stetten Castle

Since 1983 von Stetten has been building retirement homes in Stetten Castle , Künzelsau and Bad Mergentheim. He currently employs around 160 people there. The castle complex is owned by the Baron Wolfgang Stetten Foundation. Stetten Castle houses a retirement home in 18 different houses in which over 250 people live. Wolfgang von Stetten is CEO of Stetten Holding AG and managing director of various companies.

Wolfgang von Stetten was chairman of the German-Baltic parliamentary group, which he founded in 1991 - initially as a circle of friends - and remained chairman until 2002. Her goal was to participate in the independence efforts of the Baltic states and the recognition of the states by Germany, the visa-free regime for Germany, their entry into NATO and membership in the EU . Wolfgang von Stetten took care of humanitarian aid for the survivors of the Holocaust in Lithuania and Latvia and was able to distribute more than 600,000 DM to around 350 Jewish survivors through appeals for donations and personal help  , until the Federal Republic of Germany granted everyone a small pension.

The events of Vilnius Bloody Sunday in January 1991 resulted in 14 deaths and many injured. Here, too, the German-Baltic Circle of Friends and the German-Baltic Parliamentary Group were able to provide assistance in the order of 200,000 DM until the Lithuanian state provided assistance to the victims of the Soviet military's attempted coup.

Von Stetten determined that the main task would be material and non-material help for the " wolf children " in Lithuania. These were around 300 of the many thousands who had lost their parents in 1945 through war events in East Prussia or the Baltic States. By adopting Lithuanian citizenship in 1991, they lost their German citizenship, which was still in force until then, and bureaucratic hurdles had to be overcome before they were naturalized in Germany again. With personal expenses and with the help of Rotary clubs in Germany and the Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs , around 400,000 DM were raised. Forty of these wolf children were invited to Germany three times by Wolfgang von Stetten, the last time in September 2011, and a reception by Federal President Christian Wulff in Berlin. Since 2007, his campaign 100 Litas Rente für die Wolfskinder (wolf children) has led to a monthly donation of the equivalent of 35 euros for the wolf children, who are now between the ages of 75 and 85. The campaign was increased to 100 euros = 350 litas per month through donations and endowments in 2012, for the currently 76 living.

Positions

Internal party dispute 2012

In August 2012, Josef Schlarmann , the federal chairman of the CDU's SME and Business Association , massively criticized the leadership style, the party-internal centralized personnel policy, the programmatic setting of topics by Chancellor Merkel and doubted that she could win the federal elections in 2013. Thereupon von Stetten demanded Schlarmann's resignation. Von Stetten declared: "Anyone who railed so unqualifiedly about the chancellor, who was recognized all over the world, disqualified themselves." Schlarmann has become intolerable as chairman of the SME association.

Rape in marriage

In the debate about the criminal liability for rape in marriage, von Stetten stated: “Marriage is a sex community and fundamentally requires marital intercourse. The refusal from the beginning may be a reason for annulment, the later refusal a reason for divorce. Married life also includes overcoming the partner's displeasure. The husband is not out to commit a crime - some men are just more rabid. "
