Headquarters in Bochum

history

In 1937, Heinz Wollschläger founded the first branch in Gdansk . As the founder and only employee, he offered a range of classic hardware. The idea at the time was a good one, because in 1946 Heinz Wollschläger founded the Wollschläger company in Herne . The foundation of the first Wollschläger branch in Bochum (today's headquarters) took place in 1959. Frank Wollschläger, son of the company's founder, Heinz Wollschläger, took over his father's company with 25 employees in 1975. Shortly afterwards he took over the Franz Aretz welding technology company in Krefeld and Cologne and initiated a move of the welding technology division to a larger building in the Harpener Heide in Bochum. The Universal Grinding Center in Bochum opened three years later. In addition, the Wollschläger Group expanded in the years 1990–1995 to include branches in Krefeld, Cologne and Mülheim-Kärlich . Between 1996 and 1999, Frank Wollschläger founded the project department for international business and the Herbrechtingen branch . Furthermore, the Dalhoff company in Essen was taken over and Frank Wollschläger introduced the bundling of competencies for all parts of the company at the current location in Bochum. The takeover of the Bickenbach company in Siegburg and the establishment of the Hanover branch and the machine technology division followed in the years 2000–2002. In 2001, through a partial merger with the company Camille Gergen & Co. KG, Wollschläger Gergen GmbH & Co. KG, based in Dillingen and with a branch in Koblenz, was created. In 2003 the equipment rental and industrial service divisions were founded, and the Cologne and Siegburg branches were merged and moved to Troisdorf . From 2004 to 2005, Siemer-Wollschläger in Hamburg was integrated and renamed, and Hoffmann & Schlage in Munich was taken over . The expansion of the central warehouse in Bochum and the grinding center followed in 2006. In 2009, the new grinding center opened in Josef-Baumann-Strasse in Bochum. In addition, SAP ( ERP , EWM, PI and BI) was introduced in 2009 . Start of the construction and renovation measures of the future headquarters "Carolinenglückstrasse" in Bochum, the establishment of the WSG with headquarters in Mülheim an der Ruhr and the branch in Gummersbach took place in the period from 2009-2010. In addition, the branches in Mannheim , China , Panama and Sweden were founded during this time . In 2012 the new Wollschläger Austria branch opened in Breitenbach am Inn in Austria . In 2013, the conception and implementation of a data center at the "Carolinenglück" location in Bochum began in order to ensure the relocation of the new central logistics and head office. Since January 2014, the company has combined its welding technology, rental service and grinding technology divisions under the umbrella of the service center. In addition, the central and welding technology workshop (Bochum and Krefeld) will also be merged at the new administration and logistics location in Carolinenglückstrasse. Wollschläger Gergen GmbH & Co. KG was integrated into Wollschläger GmbH & Co. KG at the end of 2013 and no longer exists as an independent company. In addition, Wollschläger has a new partner for tool sales in Spain, Portugal and North Africa: with the Arsam Group from Barcelona, a supplier of cutting tools , Wollschläger is entering these markets. At the end of 2014, Wollschläger plans to move his logistics center to the new premises on Carolinenglückstrasse. On August 1, 2016, the company had to file for bankruptcy. The responsible district court in Bochum has appointed attorney Dirk Andres as preliminary insolvency administrator. The planned takeover by a Danish investor in October 2016 was canceled shortly before the contract was signed and all employees were given notice. Business operations ceased on September 30, 2016.
