history
In the second half of the 13th century Wulkersdorf was owned by the Wolkersdorfer family, who were ministerials of the Bamberg bishopric . On June 15, 1268, a witness named Wernherus de Wulkchernsdorf appears in an arbitration certificate from the Market Court in Nittenau . Wulkersdorf Castle was granted Hofmarksrechtigket early on . Wulkersdorf Castle was owned by the Lutheran Hans Poyßl von Loifling when it was destroyed by the Swedes in 1634. But he soon had it rebuilt. The castle and Hofmark subsequently had different owners. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, with the municipal edict of 1818, today's municipalities, including Bernhardswald and Wulkersdorf, were created. In Wulkersdorf there was also a second class patrimonial court of Johann Nepomuk von Reisen, for which he was given permission on February 10, 1821. The last rights of aristocratic rule were abolished in the revolution of 1848 . The communities of Wulkersdorf and Plitting were dissolved after the Second World War and incorporated into the community of Hauzendorf in the district of Regensburg on August 1, 1945. The northern parts of the community remained in the Roding district and were assigned to the market town of Nittenau on October 1, 1945. By government resolution of March 21, 1951, Wulkersdorf was again an independent municipality with the municipality parts Darmersdorf, Goppelshof, Manghof, Plitting, Oberbraunstuben and Unterbraunstuben. The community stayed with the district of Regensburg. The municipality of Wulkersdorf is incorporated into Bernhardswald on January 1, 1974 after an intermezzo (incorporation into the Schwandorf district on July 1, 1972).
