Wundwasser is the fifth album by the Thuringian dark metal band Eisregen and the first album to be published by Massacre Records .

History of origin

Due to the indexing of two albums ( Cancer Colony and Color Eclipse ) and the bankruptcy of the old record company Last Episode, the existence of Eisregens was in acute danger. The album was announced back in 2001, but the band initially took a one-year break. In the meantime, drummer Ronny Fimmel founded the Ewigheim project . Massacre Records signed the band. First of all, they are releasing a new version of the out of print debut album Zerfall .

In the fall of 2004, the follow-up work on the color eclipse was published . The band announced that they would disband the band after the next album Menschenmaterial . Instead of the previously announced album but first appeared Hexenhaus - EP and the album bloodstreams , human material was put on hold.

Presentation

The cover was designed by the band member at the time, Berg Morbach, who also works as an artist. There is no booklet with texts as a supplement, but a poster showing the band and the enlarged cover of the album.

indexing

On January 31, 2007, wound water was presented to the Federal Testing Office for Media Harmful to Young People on the basis of a suggestion by the Brandenburg State Criminal Police Office . On February 1, 2007 the album was indexed . A previous hearing was unsuccessful. The BPjM could not find sufficient artistic content, so the protection of minors was more important than freedom of art.

My oak coffin

The song Mein Eichensarg is mainly about a person who plans and carries out his suicide. At the beginning the protagonist digs his own grave and describes the surroundings. Later he takes pills and allows friends to bury him alive in his oak coffin.

On the bell rope

The song at the bell rope is a tribute to the late director Lucio Fulci , who in the film hung a zombie on the bell rope directed. The song describes the death of the priest from the film, the murder of the two lovers in the car and the final death of the undead priest in the sea of flames in the crypt.

In 2005, the song was Eisblut , the death metal project of singer Michael Roth and guitarist Michael Lenz, on the debut album Battle plant gecovert .

From matricide

Looking back, the protagonist describes his childhood. Since the death of his father, his mother has given up on alcohol and he has been subjected to frequent violent attacks. His mother is finally admitted to a home, but his image of women is so degenerate because of this childhood trauma that he begins to murder women as an adult. He gets permission from the home management to take his mother home with him, where he is already imagining how he will murder her with several stab wounds.

Ripper from Rostov

The song deals with the deeds of Andrei Romanovich Chikatilo . The song depicts how he seduces a young woman named Sveta on the train and accompanies her home. On the way they reach a forest, where Tschikatilo brutally murdered the woman, but a little later the police arrested and executed her.

Cross scar

The song is about a person who believed in God all his life , but was then taken away by the Inquisition and tortured because he was accused of witchcraft. In his desperation, he eventually prays to the devil himself to be saved by him. But he doesn't get an answer from him either, so that he comes to the conclusion that the higher powers are not interested in the concerns of people. Eventually he is burned at the stake .

Wound water

The band got the inspiration for the song "Wundwasser" from the fourth part of the Guinea Pig series Mermaid in a Manhole . The protagonist paints the dying woman using her body fluids as paint. The body will get uglier and die in the end, but the picture will last forever.
