Usu ( Chinese 乌苏市 , Pinyin Wūsū Shì ; Uighur ۋۇسۇ شەھىرى, Wusu Xəⱨiri ; Kazakh شيحۋ قالاسى, Şïxw Qalası ) is an independent city in the Tacheng administrative district , which is part of the Kazakh Ili Autonomous District in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China . It has an area of 14,393.94 square kilometers and has 210,000 inhabitants.
