Xia Shengrong (born November 24, 1994 ) is a Chinese ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with KRS Heilongjiang in the Wysschaja Hockey League since 2017 .

Career

Xia Shengrong began his career as a hockey player on the Harbin amateur team , for which he played in the Chinese ice hockey league. In 2011 he became Chinese champions with the team. In 2013 he moved to China Dragon , the only Chinese professional team, for which he played four times in the Asia League Ice Hockey . In 2014 he returned to the Harbin amateur team. When Kunlun Red Star , a Chinese team, was accepted into the Continental Hockey League for the first time in 2016 , he was one of the few Chinese players to join their squad. After a year without a game there, he moved to KRS Heilongjiang in the Wysschaja Hockey League .

International

In the junior division, Xia took part with China at the U18 World Championships in 2010 , when he had the lowest conceded goals per game of the tournament and was thus instrumental in the rise of the Chinese, in Division III and in 2011 and 2012 in Division II and at the U20 World Championships In 2011 and 2014 in Division II and in 2012 when he was voted the best goalkeeper of the tournament and had the second best catch rate of the tournament behind the Icelander Snorri Sigurbergsson , and in 2013 when he also had the lowest conceded goals per game and the best catch rate of the tournament voted best player on his team to participate in Division III. He also represented his colors in 2012 at the U20 tournament of the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia .

The goalkeeper made his debut in the Chinese men's selection at the 2013 World Cup in Division II. In 2014 , 2015 and 2016 he also played with the team from the Middle Kingdom in Division II. He also represented the team from the Realm Middle of the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 as well as the Winter Asian Games 2017 .
