Wólka ( German clouds ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the rural community of Banie Mazurskie (Benkheim) in the powiat Gołdapski ( Goldap district ).
Geographical location
Wólka is located in the northeast of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 20 kilometers east of the former district town Angerburg ( Polish : Węgorzewo ) and 18 kilometers southwest of the current district capital Gołdap (Goldap) .
history
Wolken , called Wessolowken around 1785 , was founded in 1605. The Remontedepot and Vorwerk belonged until 1941 Gutsbezirk Sperling ( Polish Wróbel ) in the district Angerburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1941 the village was incorporated into Benkeim ( Polish Banie Mazurskie ).
As a result of the war, Wolken came to Poland with southern East Prussia in 1945 and has been called "Wólka" ever since. It now belongs to the Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) Banie Mazurskie and is a village within the rural municipality of the same name in the powiat Gołdapski , until 1998 to the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

On the evangelical side , Wolken was parish into the church in Benkheim before 1945 and belonged to the Angerburg parish in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . On the part of the Catholic Church it belonged to the parish church in Gołdap (Goldap) in the Diocese of Warmia .
Today the Banie Mazurskie Church is the parish church for Wólka. It lies in the deanery Gołdap in the Diocese of Elk (Lyck) of the Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant church members in Wólka now belong to the parish in Gołdap , a branch parish of Suwałki in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .

Wólka is located on a side road that branches off the Polish Voivodship Road 650 (former German Reichsstraße 136 ) at Banie Mazurskie (Benkheim) and leads to Lisy (Lissen) in a southeastern direction. A train connection has not existed since 1945. Before that, Benkheim was the next train station and was on the now no longer operated Angerburg – Goldap line .
