Żabin Graniczny is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the rural community of Banie Mazurskie ( German Benkheim ) in the powiat Gołdapski ( Goldap district) .
Żabin Graniczny is located in the northeast of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 200 meters from the Polish-Russian state border, at the point where, until 1945, the route continued to the bream ( Brjusowo in Russian , no longer existent) and iodine tin / Jodschinn (1938 to 1945 Sausreppen, Russian Tschistopolje) led. The district town of Gołdap (Goldap) is 16 kilometers to the south-east.
The establishment of the settlement ( Polish osada ) directly in the border area (the Polish “Granica” means “border”) did not take place immediately after 1945, but only later. A German place name is not known.
Żabin Graniczny is a village in the Banie Mazurskie rural community in the Gołdapski powiat , before 1998 part of the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .
Ecclesiastically, the place belongs to the Catholic parish Żabin (Klein Szabienen / Schabienen , 1938 to 1945 Kleinlautersee) in the Deanery Gołdap in the Diocese of Ełk (Lyck) of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland and to the Evangelical Church in Gołdap , a subsidiary church of the Parish Suwałki in the Masurian Diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
In terms of traffic, Żabin Graniczny is out of the way and can be reached via a side road that goes from Jany (Groß Jahnen) via Widgiry (Wittgirren , 1938 to 1945 Wittbach) , Radkiejmy (Radtkehmen , 1938 to 1945 Wittrade) and Stary Żabin (Royal Szabienen , 1931 to 1938 Alt Schabienen , 1938 to 1945 Altlautersee) leads directly into the village. There is no train connection.
Remarks
- ↑ The nearby submerged Hohenberg residential area of the no longer existing village Groß Szabienen / Schabienen (1938 to 1945 Großlautersee) is too far away to be meant.
