Klewiny ( German  Klewienen , 1938 to 1945 Tannenwinkel ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the rural community Banie Mazurskie (Benkheim) in the powiat Gołdapski ( Goldap district ).

Geographical location

Klewiny located in the northeast of the Warmia and Mazury, 15 kilometers south of the past and today in Russia located county seat Darkehmen (1938-1946 Angerapp, Russian Ozersk ) and 14 kilometers southwest of the county seat today Goldap (Goldap) .

history

Klewinay Neusassen - that was the name of the place before 1566, Kleminen around 1603 and Klewienen until 1938 - consisted primarily of a large estate before 1945. In 1874 the place was incorporated into the newly established district of Rogahlen ( Polish: Rogale ), which - from 1939 to 1945 called "District of Gahlen" - existed until 1945 and to the district of Darkehmen (1939 to 1945, "District of Angerapp") in the Gumbinnen district of the Prussian Province of East Prussia belonged.

In 1910 136 people lived in Klewienen. On September 30, 1928, the independence of Klewienens ended when the manor district was incorporated into the rural community of Rogahlen . From June 3 (officially confirmed on July 16) in 1938, Klewienen was called "Tannenwinkel".

In 1945 the city came in consequence of the war with the southern East Prussia to Poland and changed its name to the Polish form "Klewiny". Today it is part of the rural community Banie Mazurskie in the powiat Gołdapski , before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

Religions

The mostly Protestant population of Klewienens resp. Tannenwinkels was parish in the church Rogahlen (1938 to 1945 Gahlen, Polish Rogale ) in the church district Darkehmen / Angerapp in the church province East Prussia of the church of the Old Prussian Union , while the few Catholics to the parish church in Gołdap (Goldap) in the deanery Masuren II (seat: Johannisburg , Polish Pisz ) belonged to the Diocese of Warmia .

Today the predominantly Catholic population of Klewinys is integrated into the church in Rogale , a branch church of the parish in Żabin (Klein Szabienen , 1938 to 1945 Kleinlautersee) in the Gołdap deanery in the Diocese of Ełk (Lyck) of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant church members living here belong to the parish in Gołdap , a branch church of the parish in Suwałki in the Masurian diocese of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .
