Mieczniki is a small village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the rural community of Banie Mazurskie ( German Benkheim ) in the powiat Gołdapski ( Goldap district ).
Mieczniki is located in the northeast of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship on the Polish Voivodeship Road DW 650 , the former German Reich Road 136 , which connects the district towns of Węgorzewo (Angerburg) and Gołdap (Goldap) .
The village was founded after 1945, an earlier German place or a German place name cannot be made out. With its 118 inhabitants, Mieczniki today belongs to the rural community of Banie Mazurskie in the powiat Gołdapski, before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .
Ecclesiastically, the village is oriented towards the Catholic parish of Banie Mazurskie in the Gołdap Dean's Office in the Diocese of Ełk (Lyck) of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland and towards the Evangelical Church in Gołdap, a subsidiary church of Suwałki in the Masurian Diocese of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .
