Mieczkówka ( German  Mitschkowken , 1938 to 1945 Herbsthausen B ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the rural community Banie Mazurskie (Benkheim) in the powiat Gołdapski ( Goldap district ).

Geographical location

Mieczkówka is located in the northeast of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, 19 kilometers southwest of the district town of Gołdap (Goldap) and 24 kilometers east of the former district capital Angerburg ( Polish : Węgorzewo ).

history

Mitschkowken was founded in 1612 and before 1945 consisted of several small farms and homesteads. In 1874, the village in the newly built office district was Lissen incorporated, which existed until 1945 and for district Angerburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged.

In 1867 there were 96 inhabitants registered in Mitschkowken, the number of which changed to 91 by 1885, constant until 1905 and to 88 by 1910.

On April 1, 1938, the three neighboring communities Sawadden ( Zawady in Polish ), Budzisken (Budziska) and Mitschkowken merged to form the new community "Herbsthausen", whereby the three places like to add a code letter to the community name: Herbsthausen "A" for Sawadden, Herbsthausen " B ”for Mitschkowken and Herbsthausen“ C ”for Budzisken.

1945 came Herbsthausen in consequence of the war with the southern East Prussia to Poland , and the places were again individual, now: Polish place names: Zawady, Mieczkówka and Budziska. Zawady became the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ), in which Mieczkówka and Budziska are included. All three places are part of the rural community Banie Mazurskie in the powiat Gołdapski , before 1998 part of the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

The evangelical residents of Mitschkowkens resp. Until 1945, Herbsthausen was parish in the parish of the church in Benkheim ( Polish: Banie Mazurskie ) in the parish of Angerburg in the church province of East Prussia of the church of the Old Prussian Union , while the Catholic church members belonged to the parish church in Angerburg in the Diocese of Warmia .
