Yannick Tremblay (born November 15, 1975 in Pointe-aux-Trembles , Québec ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who has played for the Toronto Maple Leafs , Atlanta Thrashers and Vancouver Canucks in the course of his active career .
Career
The 1.88 m tall defender began his career with the Harfangs de Beauport in the Canadian junior league Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec before he was selected in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft as 145th in the sixth round of the Toronto Maple Leafs .
First, the right-shooter was used in the St. John's Maple Leafs in the AHL. From the 1996/97 season he was then also regularly in the squad of the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he became a regular in 1998 . For the 1999/00 season , the Canadian was transferred to the Atlanta Thrashers , for which he completed three hundred games in the highest North American professional league by 2004 . For the 2004/05 season Tremblay moved to DEL - record champion Adler Mannheim , which he left again in 2006 in the direction of Vancouver Canucks.
For the 2007/08 season Tremblay signed a contract with the Swiss first division club HC Lugano. After a one-year break, the Straubing Tigers from the DEL signed the right-handed shooter for the 2009/10 season . After a good start to the season, the veteran was a great support in the first half of the season. As confirmation of his performance, he was appointed to Team Canada at the 2009 Spengler Cup . In 2010 he was no longer able to continue his services, whereupon his contract was not extended.
For the 2010/11 season he moved to the EC Graz 99ers .
International
For the Canadian national ice hockey team , Yannick Tremblay played the 2000 World Cup , scoring a goal and an assist in nine games .
