The Yvette is a river in France that runs in the Île-de-France region . It has its source in the municipality of Les Essarts-le-Roi , in the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Nature Park . The Yvette generally drains in an easterly direction and flows into the Orge as a left tributary after 39 kilometers at Épinay-sur- Orge . On its way, the river crosses the Yvelines and Essonne departments . Its lower course runs through a densely populated area in the greater Paris area.
