Zaida Saiace

Zaida Saiace is an Argentinian pianist.

Saiace studied piano at the Conservatorio Juan José Castro in La Lucila and took lessons in harmony and counterpoint from Sergio Hualpa and music analysis from Francisco Kröpfl . She then took courses with Alfonso Montecino at the School of Music at Indiana University Bloomington (1985-86), Rosalyn Tureck in Buenos Aires and Menahem Pressler at the music camp in Bariloche (chamber music).

Saiace has been working as a piano soloist and chamber musician since 1980. She conducted and recorded compositions by Frédéric Chopin , Johann Sebastian Bach , Ludwig van Beethoven , Gabriel Fauré , Franz Schubert , Robert Schumann , Maurice Ravel and Johannes Brahms . In the Auditorio de Virrey Loreto and at the Teatro Colón she has performed with musicians such as Guillermo Opitz , Víctor Torres , Bernarda Fink and Virginia Correa Dupuy . In 1985 she took part as a pianist at the Agrupación Nueva Música for the 50th anniversary of Alban Berg's death .

In 1990 she took part in the opening of the Centro de Experimentación des Teatro Colón in the performance of Arnold Schönberg's Pierrot Lunaire , directed by Gerardo Gandini and directed by Pina Benedetto and Horacio Pigozzi . The following year she was the pianist and harpsichordist in the performance of the opera El Milagro Secreto by Martin Matalon .

In addition, Saiace also emerged as an interpreter of Latin American popular music and a tango pianist. With the program Diario De Pianista , released on CD in 1992, she took part in the Primer Festival Musical de Bariloche in 1993 . In the same year she gave concerts in Germany, France and Spain. In the program De Corea a Mozart in 1994 she performed Brazilian tangos and Ernesto Nazareth , milongas by Astor Piazzolla , children's songs by Chick Corea and a piano concerto by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in various concert halls in Buenos Aires . In the same year she performed Ricky Pashkus ' ballet Noche Corta as musical director and interpreter at the Centro Cultural Recoleta . She has also worked with jazz, tango and folklore musicians such as Horacio López , Enrique Sinesi , Luis Borda , Marcelo Moguilevsky , Alejandro Santos and Jorge Cumbo .

In 1995 she performed the program Música de Buenos Aires y otras Tierras at the Teatro Municipal General San Martín with guitarist Luis Borda and was the pianist in a performance of Leoš Janáček's Diary of a Missing Person . 1996–97 she traveled through France and Germany and performed with Luis Borda in Cologne, Koblenz, Weimar, Erfurt, Freiburg and Munich at the Passionskirche in Berlin. With Borda, the flutist Thijs van Leer and the percussionist Mario Argandoña , she recorded the album Nouveau Tango in Germany with compositions by Horacio Salgán , Pedro Laurenz , Astor Piazzolla and Salgan.

In 1998 Saiace performed the Three Monotypes for Piano Solo by Martín Matalón and Peter Hatchs Blunt Music for two pianos, marimba and vibraphone (with Haydée Schwartz , Angel Frette and Luis Favero ) at the Ciclo de Música Contemporánea of the Teatro Municipal San Martín . In the same year she went on a concert tour with Quique Sinesi through Germany. She performed in the Dresden jazz club Tonne and was commissioned by the Societaetstheater to compose the music for Jörg Wolf's Nostalgias, Tango for Four , which was performed at the 1999 International Dance Week.

With the guitarist Edgardo Cardozo , the double bass player Fernando Galimany and the percussionist Sebastián Petrosini , she performed works by Astor Piazzolla , Horacio Salgán , Carlos Guastavino , Egberto Gismonti , Ernesto Nazareth , Eric Satie and Heitor Villa-Lobos in a concert series in 2000 .
